Partnerships and Strategic Alliances to Drive Industry Innovation
In addition to working with our merchants to deliver optimised payment solutions throughout our partnership, we also work very closely with the Payment Brands. In fact, Chase Paymentech has already played a vital leadership role in the strategic implementation of many products and services that have had considerable impact on the payment industry to date:

• Chase Paymentech proactively developed and implemented instalment, deferred and recurring billing. After this successful launch, we actively worked with MasterCard^® and Visa^® to change their regulations to allow recurring type merchants to fully utilise this program.
• Following a study initiated by Chase Paymentech, the development of Address Verification Service (AVS) in the UK was undertaken.
• Chase Paymentech was the first acquirer to pilot the Cardholder Verification Value (CVV2) program with Visa and was the first acquirer certified for its use.
• Chase Paymentech also served as a pilot site for Verified by Visa and was one of the first acquirers to offer MasterCard SecureCode.
• Chase Paymentech originated the use of 'soft' cardholder descriptors that clearly explain the transaction to the cardholder thereby reducing cardholder queries and chargebacks.
• Chase Paymentech worked closely with Visa to pilot its Account Updater Service.
• Chase Paymentech was one of the few acquirers involved in the five-year process to implement new chargeback rules and procedures under Visa RED (Re-Engineering Disputes).
